About Rock Bottom Raft Repair

For me, life has been all about the river. I’m not just a guy who fixes boats; I’m a guy who’s lived on them for the past 30 years. My story started back in 1993 in Riggins, where I spent 15 years as a river guide, day in and day out. After that, I got into the business side of things, managing a river company for a few years before running my own outfitter business for the next 15 years.
All that time on the water wasn't just about running trips and making a living—it was a masterclass in what can go wrong. I've been on the river when a raft suddenly goes soft, and I've seen firsthand what a weak spot or a bad patch can do to a trip. That's why I've been doing raft repairs on the side in Riggins for just as long as I’ve been guiding and outfitting. I learned to fix these things out of necessity, and it quickly became a passion.
I also had the huge privilege of working on and off with the crew at MARAVIA back in the day. I spent a lot of time in their repair shop learning from a legend named Kyle Overman—the kind of guy who can fix anything. I worked on a wide variety of rafts, but learning from him gave me a deep understanding of what makes a quality repair stick. I’ve taken all that knowledge and applied it to every job I’ve done since.
Your boat is more than just gear; it’s a ticket to adventure. When you’re putting your trust in it, you need to know it’s solid. Whether it’s a simple patch, a tricky valve issue, or a major seam blowout, I've likely seen and fixed it before. I get what’s on the line when you drop your boat off.
To make things easy for you, I’ve got two shops: one right here in Riggins, where my journey began, and another in Boise for the folks in the Treasure Valley. Both shops are here to get your gear patched up and ready to hit the water, safe and sound.
